Post-sun skin care routine

2 minutes read

A long day spent in the surf and the sand may have tired you out, but it’s not time to relax just yet. First, take care of your skin.

STEP 1: CLEANSE YOUR SKIN

Time to cleanse again! This time, reach for a gentle, no-rinse cleansing option such as micellar water.  Saturate a cotton pad with your micellar water of choice, and then wipe the pad across your face.

STEP 2: APPLY FACIAL MOISTURIZER

If your skin feels like it could use a little extra hydration after a long day spent in the sun, reach for a water-based facial moisturizer.

STEP 3: RELIEVE A SUNBURN

Even the best laid plans don’t always go as expected. That means even if you try to be diligent when it comes to sun protection, you could still end up with a sunburn. If that happens, one of the easiest ways to get relief is by taking frequent cold baths and showers, according to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). Then, try applying a moisturizer formulated with aloe vera which can help provide soothing relief for sunburns, according to the AAD.

STEP 4: TRY A TINTED BB CREAM

If your skin looks a touch too red for your liking after a day spent in the sun, smooth on a BB cream with a green tint to help combat the appearance of a rosy complexion. BB cream transforms to a universal shade to help neutralize the look of redness, correct skin color for an even-looking complexion, hydrate for long-lasting moisture, and perfect the appearance of your complexion.
